Spring Ahead ~ Sunday, March 10, 2013
Daylight Savings is Time ~ March 10
“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” Charles Dickens
It’s that time of year again. At 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 10th, we set the clocks ahead one hour. The promise of springtime and sunshine is sure to add a burst of positive energy to the air … especially as we shovel out from another snowstorm on March 8th!
Next week is an ideal time to do a little lighting maintenance to make your spring and summer lighter and brighter. Here are five five tips now that spring is around the corner.
- Change the batteries in your smoke detector.
- Clean your outdoor lights and change light bulbs. Consider LED as you will save energy and money while helping the planet.
- Change timers on lights to light later.
- Use dimmers to save energy.
- Install landscape lighting before your buds bloom.
